1. Before you begin the installing thedrain you need to turn off the water. If you are installing a new sink drain, remove the old one first. Clean out the bottom of the sink with an old rag and sink cleaner. Clean the drain opening to make sure there is not any dirt, mould, or mildew remaining when you install the new drain.

2. Get your silicone caulk and caulking gun and cut the tip off of the caulk tube with scissors in a 45 degree angle. Take the drain flange and turn it over so that it is positioned bottom side up. Apply the caulk around the underside of the drain flange.

3. Insert the drain flange into the opening of the drain. Slightly turn it in a clockwise direction so that the silicone caulk is properly distributed. Hold the flange in place for a few minutes to make sure it does not slip.
